As a long-time fan of Diablo, and a PC gamer, I felt let down and, well. And to be honest, as a fan of the Diablo franchise, I really understand the anger that a lot of fans feel. Hey, sometimes I wonder if I’m a bit too politically correct on this blog, but I always figure it’s better to be a bit too careful than not enough. Look, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I’m smart enough to know that, if your livelihood is a show about games, it might not be a good idea to say bad things about gamers. Anyway, Contri broadcast a session of his podcast in which he and his broadcasting partner, known as “The Guy With the Long Hair and Beard, Who is Also on the Podcast” lambasted (yes “lambasted”) fans for their outrage and behavior, calling them, among other things “babies” and telling them to “shut the fuck up.” And that went about as well as you can expect. reviewer? Critic? Youtube content creator? Sorry, I don’t know all the lingo these days. Instead there was an announcement of a mobile game, which left many fans disappointed at best, and insulted and angry at worst.Įnter Pat the NES Punk. Many were anticipating Diablo 4, or perhaps a remaster of the fan-favorite Diablo 2. And then, a few months back, Blizzard dropped hints of something big for Diablo players. Nowadays, it continues to get an occasional update here and there, but many fans have been wanting more. You see, the most current Diablo game to date has been Diablo 3, which was released in 2012. This was actually a huge shock to many fans, and for many of those many fans, it was. A few weeks prior, Blizzard, makers of the popular and genre-setting Diablo franchise, revealed their plans for a new mobile game, Diablo Immortal. Well, I guess I’m a bit late to the party on this, and I generally don’t comment on many current events, anyway, but I got thinking about this the other day while I was on the toilet (where I do my best thinking) and decided this is a good issue to talk about.įor those of you not in the gaming loop, for those of you not familiar with such hit games as Ultima Online or Heart Stone or Mario Brothers (pronounced “mare-ee-oh”), let me fill you in a bit.
